- Branded apparel makers react negatively to the Union budget: Made in India branded clothes have made dressing a lot easier for many of us with their designs, versatility and affordability. Taking note of how the industry has come of age, the Union Budget has proposed a mandatory 10% duty on ready made clothes. The industry is upset with the levy and says there will be a 15% dip in volumes. Nikita Rana gets a sense of the impact on the business from some of the key brands in the market.
