At the completion of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding festivities in Jamnagar, a very special family member joined the Ambani family portrait. Happy is the Ambani family’s pet dog, a golden retriever who acted as ring-bearer at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s engagement back in January 2023.
More recently, Happy stole the spotlight in a family picture featuring Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani, his wife Nita Ambani, their Akash, Isha and Anant along with their respective partners Shloka Mehta, Anand Piramala and Radhika Merchant. The picture was taken at Jamnagar, where the Ambani family hosted some very high-profile guests for several days to celebrate the upcoming wedding of their younger son Anant to Radhika.
The celebrations started with Anna Seva for nearby village communities, followed by three days of festivities with friends and family, and culminated with a grand celebration with the extended Reliance Parivaar of employees and their families at the Reliance Township in Jamnagar.
The Ambani family and their dog Happy struck a pose for the cameras after the successful completion of the pre-wedding celebrations.
The world first realised of Happy’s existence in January 2023, when the golden retriever acted as the ring bearer at Anant and Radhika’s engagement at the Ambani Mumbai residence, Antilia. The dog was seen carrying the ring on his back as he made his way towards the couple.
A few months later, Nita Ambani, in an interview with The Week, revealed that she is a “dog mother” besides being a mother and grandmother.
“Add to that, I am also a dog mother,” she said. “My son Anant rescues dogs; he has 5,000 stray dogs, but I have only one who is my family and we call him Happy.”
Meanwhile, Anant Ambani’s love for animals is well known. In fact, his pre-wedding celebrations reflected his love for animals as the festivities took place at Jamnagar, where the Ambani family has built a large rescue and rehabilitation centre for animals. The animals housed at the Jamnagar facility include elephants, leopards, lions, crocodiles, various species of birds and reptiles and more.
