Lost in transit: Flipkart calls customer 6 years after he placed order for slippers

Despite the passage of six years, the slippers are yet to be delivered. However, Ahsan Kharbai recently received a call from Flipkart customer support, much to his surprise.

A Mumbai resident recently received a call from Flipkart customer support six years after placing an order on the e-commerce platform. Ahsan Kharbai shared his baffling experience on X (formerly Twitter), including a screenshot of his order history, which showed he had ordered a pair of Sparx slippers back in May 2018.

Despite the passage of six years, the slippers are yet to be delivered. However, Kharbai recently received a call from Flipkart customer support, much to his surprise. "I was surprised when they called for an order that is six years old," he told the Hindustan Times.

Recalling the long-standing issue,  Kharbai explained, "I ordered the slippers from Flipkart six years ago. They never arrived, and it always showed 'arriving today' on their app. To this day, it still shows 'arriving today'."

Curiosity led him to click on the order recently, and shortly after, he received a call from Flipkart. "The customer care representative asked me if I had received any calls from the logistics team. He ended the call saying, 'We are very sorry for this, sir,'" he recounted to Hindustan Times. 

Kharbai mentioned that the order was cash-on-delivery, so he hadn't pursued the matter further. However, he expressed a desire for the order to be closed. "I just want them to close that order because whenever I open my Flipkart order section, this is the first order that I see," he said.
