Dosa – is an emotion for most South Indians that goes beyond the notions of just being a quintessential breakfast favourite. Known by many names - Dosa, Dosey Dosai, or Dosha, this crepe-like rice pancake that is commonly eaten for breakfast in South India. With the balance of carbs and proteins, this dish is made with fermented rice and lentil batter.

Believed to have originated in a city called Udupi in Karnataka, legend has it that it was invented by a cook who tried to ferment his own version of alcohol with rice. As it did not work, he just poured it out on a pan to make a crepe out of it.
