OpenAI co-founder and President Greg Brockman has resigned from the company after its board announced the ouster of CEO Sam Altman. OpenAI said CEO Sam Altman was pushed out after a review found he was not “consistently candid in his communications with the board.” The board no longer has confidence in his ability to continue leading OpenAI, the company said in a statement on Friday.

Brockman announced his resignation on social media just hours after the exit of Sam Altman, which sent shockwaves through the tech industry.

“I’m super proud of what we’ve all built together since starting in my apartment 8 years ago,” Brockman wrote in a statement shared on X. “We’ve been through tough & great times together, accomplishing so much despite all the reasons it should have been impossible. But based on today’s news, I quit.”

“Genuinely wishing you all nothing but the best. I continue to believe in the mission of creating safe AGI that benefits all of humanity,” he added.
The statement was shared in response to Altman’s post on his ouster. “I loved my time at OpenAI. it was transformative for me personally, and hopefully the world a little bit. most of all I loved working with such talented people,” Altman wrote on X after the board’s announcement, promising to share more details “about what’s next later.”
