A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Ayodhya Ram Mandir and presided over the "pran prathistha" ceremony, devotees started gathering in large numbers on Tuesday morning to get the first glimpse of Ram Lalla.
Videos of the first aarti conducted at the temple after its inauguration is viral on social media.
Devotees started gathering at the temple in large numbers from 3 am, Times Now reported. They were required to book passes before visiting the shrine. The Ayodhya Ram Mandir will be open for devotees from 7 am to 11.30 am and from 2 pm to 7 pm.
Two special aarti ceremonies have also been planned -- jagaran aarti at 6.30 am and sandhya aarti at 7.30 pm, Times Now reported. Passes to witness the aarti can be booked one day in advance
Online passes can be procured by visiting the official Ram Mandir website, logging in with a mobile number, and verifying identity through the OTP sent to the mobile.
Ram Mandir may attract 50 million tourists a year The grand opening of the Ram temple in Ayodhya by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to have a huge economic impact, as India gets a new tourist hotspot, which could attract 50 million plus tourists per year, said brokerage firm Jefferies.
“A $10 billion makeover (new airport, revamped railway station, township, improved road connectivity, etc) will likely drive a multiplier effect with new hotels and other economic activities. It can also set a template for infra-driven growth for tourism,” Jefferies stated.
