A man in Kolkata claims he has been cheated by a seller on Amazon after he bought a Tissot watch worth Rs 31,500 from the platform and after delivery found out that it was actually purchased last year. The seller had sent him a used watch. On requesting a replacement on Amazon, he was then sent another Tissot watch in an Armani box.

The customer, an investor and IIT Kharagpur almunus who goes by (@Disciplined_Inv) on X said that it has been about two weeks since he received the pre-owned watch and Amazon has not been able to resolve the matter yet. In a post titled "fraud by Amazon," he wrote: "Fraud by Amazon: I had ordered a Tissot PRX watch on 21st July from Amazon. I received the watch on 28th July from the seller Mega Store LLP. I entered its serial number to check its authenticity on Tissot's website. I found that the watch was purchased on 15th Feb 2023."

The watch, he said, was meant to be a gift for his uncle.

In a separate post, the X user added that when he complained to Amazon, he was sent a replacement which turned out to be a Tissot watch in an Armani box. @Disciplined_Inv also uploaded an unboxing video to prove his point.

"I received the replacement on August 6. I had raised complaint on 6th itself. I was asked to share the images (I did) on a link and was assured of resolution by August 8. I contacted again on 8th Aug and was told that they need to raise another complaint for investigation," the Amazon customer said. "They told me that they will resolve the issue by 12th August. I waited and contacted them on 12th. They kept asking me to hold and transferring the call to their seniors. This went on for 45 mins. But to no help. They again told me to wait another 24 hrs. I waited again."
