The Hindi film industry and the rest of the movie fraternity received grim news on Thursday when actor Shreyas Talpade collapsed after suffering a heart attack and was rushed to a Mumbai hospital where he underwent angioplasty.
One of the actor's close friends-Bobby Deol-made a startling revelation by saying that Talpade's wife Deepti Talpade had informed him that the actor's heart had stopped beating for 10 minutes before he was revived and underwent an angioplasty.
"I just spoke to his wife. She was really upset. His heart had stopped for about ten minutes, apparently. Now they’ve revived him and done an angioplasty. So just pray that he will be fine," Deol told Bollywood Hungama.
Talpade's wife later issued a statement where she thanked everyone for the concern and revealed that the actor's condition was stable.
"I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming concern and well-wishes following the recent health scare my husband experienced. I'm relieved to update everyone that he is now in stable condition and will be discharged in a few days. The medical team's exceptional care and timely response have been instrumental during this time, and we are grateful for their expertise. We kindly request respect for our privacy as he continues," the statement read.
Talpade was reportedly shooting for his upcoming project "Welcome to the Jungle" on Thursday and the day's schedule involved minor action sequences.
The members on the set said that the actor was fine but after returning home, Talpade complained of uneasiness and told his wife he was not feeling well.
