Aadhaar-linked smart cards for employees to enter airport: BCAS

The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) is looking to roll out Aadhaar linked smart cards for all employees to enter airport premises. It was found that employees were using expired passes to enter airports, which is leading to threat to the security system already in place.

The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) is looking to roll out Aadhaar-linked smart cards for all employees to enter airport premises. A check by the Bureau found that employees were using expired passes to enter airports, which is leading to threat to the security system already in place.

The Bureau has done a trial at different airports where handbags were not tagged. In light of growing passenger traffic, it has decided handbags will not be tagged at four major airports which are Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.Watch video for more ...
