Sun Pictures COO sent to two days police custody

Chief Operating Officer of Kalanidhi Maran-owned Sun Pictures, Hansraj Saxena, arrested in a cheating case, was today remanded to two days police custody by a court here.


On an application by police, a Metropolitan Magistrate Court granted two days police custody when Saxena was produced before it, official sources said. Also read: Sun TV shares down; Sun Pictures CEO arrest unnerves investors
Saxena was arrested on Sunday on a complaint by Salem-based film distributor T S Selvaraj alleging that he had cheated him to the tune of Rs 82.53 lakh and had been remanded to judicial custody.
The complaint had also alleged that Saxena threatened him on January 5 this year when he sought return of his money.
Sun Pictures is owned by Kalanidhi Maran, brother of Union Minister Dayanidhi Maran and grand-nephew of DMK chief M Karunanidhi.
