Míša, the dog’s owner, has taken to social media to appeal for help in finding her pet.

Two runways at Paris Charles-de-Gaulle Airport were temporarily closed on Tuesday as officials deployed a drone to capture a dog that escaped from an aircraft over a week ago. The dog, a female named Amalka, slipped out of its carrier cage during an unloading operation last Tuesday and has evaded capture since.

Airport authorities, with the assistance of Air France, launched the latest operation during off-peak hours on Tuesday afternoon to minimise disruptions. The plan involved using a drone to locate the animal and tranquillise it with a hypodermic needle.

Air France confirmed the ongoing efforts in a statement: “The animal has been spotted and approached several times, but it has not been possible so far to capture it.”
