A Bengaluru woman's post on X for a flatmate is viral on social media because of its "top-notch presentation," as an X user put it. Udisha Madan, an independent designer, is looking for a flatmate to share her 2BHK house in Koramangala.
In her ad, she is likely to have used a design app to use photographs and information regarding the house in a very reader-friendly and eye-pleasing way, prompting many X users to laud her for the effort she put into it and for the arguably low rent she asked for -- Rs 13,750 per month.
Responding to the post, X user Aurko (@AurkoMahapatra) wrote, "Can you make me a matrimonial ad with design touches like this? Wow!" Another user (@bhavyamehta2611) commented, "Love how well you have made this, probably you should start taking up projects to help people rent out their place." "Got to bookmark this to take some lessons from you on how to present!!" added a third user Dhruv (@dhruv_dumps).
Then there were some who pointed out that Madan was also asking for much lower rent than others, especially for a popular, bustling area in Bengaluru.
"Rs 13K for single room in Koramangala? And here I have to pay Rs 23.6K at Mahadevpura!" commented Suman Hansada (@SumanHansada). Another user Zeus (@_z_eus) wrote, "Rs 14K in peak Koramangala that too such a nice place. Am I dreaming!?"
In 2023, Bengaluru experienced the steepest rise in rentals, two independent surveys have found. Rents in the city's Bengaluru’s prominent areas soared by over 30 percent, according to No Broker's Real Estate Report 2023 and consultancy firm Anarock.
Seven percent of landlords in Bengaluru increased rents by more than 30 percent in 2023, No Broker stated, adding that 52 percent of the landlords surveyed in Bengaluru rely completely on their income from rents.
A standard 2BHK flat of about 1,000 square feet area in Bengaluru’s Whitefield witnessed rents grow by 31 percent while rents for such homes in Sarjapur increased by 27 percent, Anarock stated in its report.
