Bengaluru has been in a celebratory mood since Sunday evening after the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team won the Women's Premier League -- a feat that has eluded the men's team for 16 years, ever since IPL was established.
While videos of RCB supporters flooding the streets in celebration have been doing rounds and even gone viral on social media, another cricket enthusiast has been spreading positivity and marking the historic win silently one ride at a time.
The man, a cab driver, has been gifting chocolates to each of his customers ever since the win, and one of his customers -- Star Sports anchor and commentator Navneeth Krishna -- shone the spotlight on the "sweet" gesture.
"Got into the cab this morning in Namma Bengaluru and got this chocolate from the cab driver! He’s giving out chocolates to all his customers today! Why? Because RCB won. This city, its fans, and the love - Unreal!" he wrote on X, sharing a picture of the chocolate he was given.
Several social media users appreciated the "peak Bengaluru" moment especially because the triumph was significant for RCB who had made it to three previous final appearances in 2009, 2011, and 2016.
Meanwhile, former RCB captain Virat Kohli congratulated the team, referring to them as "Superwomen" in an Instagram story. Immediately after the victory on Sunday, he also made a video call to speak with Smriti Mandhana, a clip of which went viral on social media.
