Wipro CEO Thierry Delaporte steps down, Srinivas Pallia takes over

Thierry Delaporte’s resignation comes amid quarters of underperformance, where Wipro has lagged its rivals. It also witnessed a string of top-level exits, even as Delaporte brought in more leaders from Capgemini.

Delaporte was appointed as Wipro CEO & MD in May 2020 for five years, and was due to stay on till July 2025.

Wipro Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Thierry Delaporte has resigned from his position on April 6, the company informed the exchanges. The software major said it has appointed Srinivas Pallia as the CEO and MD of the company.

He succeeds Thierry Delaporte, who, after spearheading a significant transformation at Wipro for the last four years, is stepping down to pursue passions outside the workplace.

Unlike Thierry, who was brought in from Capgemini to lead Wipro four years ago, Pallia is a Wipro veteran and has spent over three decades at the Azim Premji promoted firm.
