OpenAI's ChatGPT will let users generate images with DALL-E 3 integration

OpenAI's move comes on heels of Google bolstering its Bard AI chatbot with deeper app integration and expanded visual search capabilities.

• OpenAI claims that the image generator can understand significantly more nuance and detail than the company's previous systems, particularly complex prompts, to create "detailed and accurate" images.


• DALL-E 3 is currently available as a research preview and will be available to paid ChatGPT Plus subscribers and Enterprise customers in early October 2023. It will be made available to all users through OpenAI's labs website later this year.

Google DeepMind's AI tool could pinpoint our genetic faults

Google DeepMind has showed that its tool AlphaFold could predict the structure of any protein from its genetic sequence alone.

• DeepMind has tweaked AlphaFold to analyse those sequences for an entirely different task: identifying which single-letter changes in the genome might cause harm, and which are likely to be benign.


• Called AlphaMissense, It’s not the first tool designed to identify relevant mutations from the long list of minor errors in our genomes, But it’s a welcome improvement over what’s out there.

Amazon introduces new Generative AI capabilities for Alexa

Amazon announced a slew of new updates for its product portfolio at its Fall 2023 launch event on September 21.

• Amazon is using a custom Large Language Model (LLM) to integrate generative AI capabilities in Alexa. The company says the LLM is optimised for voice interactions.


• Alexa can now hold conversations while taking into account body gestures and eye contact. It can combine multiple requests into one interaction. It can continue conversations without using wake words and has a more natural-sounding voice.
