Expanding its AI prowess to video editing, Google has announced an all-new app for video creation. Called Vids, it is the latest Workspace app from Google and uses AI to create videos. “Vids is your video, writing, production, and editing assistant, all in one. It can generate a storyboard that you can easily edit, and after choosing a style, it pieces together your first draft with suggested scenes from stock videos, images, and background music,” said Aparna Pappu, vice president and general manager, Google Workspace.

Earlier this year, OpenAI created quite a stir by showcasing Sora — a text to video AI tool. While Vids isn’t on the same lines, it does utilise AI to create functional videos that organisations may find useful.
