Electronic Arts has begun pulling its FIFA-branded games from digital storefronts like Steam. The series has now been rebranded to EA FC.
The first title in the line-up called EA FC 24, will be launched on September 29. All FIFA titles from FIFA 14 to 23 cannot be bought on digital storefronts anymore, though FIFA 22 and 23 can still be played through the EA Play subscription.
People who have already bought the copies of the games can still play it. While there is no official confirmation at why the games have been delisted, EA and FIFA ended their 30-year partnership last year as official licensee of the FIFA brand name.
According to The New York Times, FIFA reportedly asked for payments of $1 billion for each world cup cycle, and the two parties couldn't agree on the scope of the partnership either. As it stands, FIFA 23 will be the last EA-branded FIFA title.
