Tamil Nadu's minister for industries, investment Promotions, and commerce, TRB Rajaa on January 16 said the state's workforce is unmatched and will require a significant amount of time for other states to catch up.
In an exclusive interview with Moneycontrol at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Rajaa said: "Tamil Nadu does things differently. As the second-largest economy, with 43% of all working women in India hailing from Tamil Nadu, this is an achievement built over centuries. It will take considerable time for other states to match our prowess. We aspire to be the driving force of India and are already a manufacturing powerhouse."
Rajaa also served delicious sweet Pongal and conveyed wishes to the visitors at the Tamil Nadu Pavilion.
The 47-year-old minister said, "The technical skills of our workforce are unmatched. This is why we excel in various sectors, such as automotive, electric vehicles, and electronics. We are on track to achieve approximately $8 billion in electronics exports in FY24. In advanced manufacturing, our educational institutions produce exceptional talent, fostering industry growth. The ecosystem is already in place, making Tamil Nadu the go-to destination for manufacturing."

On the two-day Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet (GIM) that concluded on January 8, bringing in proposed investments totaling Rs 6.64 lakh crore and projecting 26.9 lakh prospective jobs in the state, Rajaa had said, "CM MK Stalin focused not just on investment numbers but also on the types of jobs that GIM will create. GIM has created significant ripples both in India and abroad."
He reiterated their aim of creating high-end, high-value jobs for the youth in Tamil Nadu and generating employment for rural women, fostering inclusive growth throughout the state.
