WhatsApp, the Meta-owned instant messaging platform, is now rolling out a new feature to select Android Beta users, the Companion mode, which allows you to link your WhatsApp account on multiple devices.

This means that people that are part of the test can use their account on two or more devices simultaneously. You can link up to four different devices and up to two smartphones with one account.

Once linked, your chats will be automatically synchronised but some features like live locations, stickers, and broadcasts may not get linked.
Companion mode was first spotted by WABetaInfo back in July 2022, when it was limited to internal testing. It is now rolling out to select WhatsApp Beta users.

If you are one of the lucky few that have access, then linking a second device is really simple. Simply open Settings, then Tap on Menu and select Linked Devices. Now tap on Link a Device and you should see a QR code pop-up similar to when you link your account with WhatsApp Web.
