During the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Amazon announced it was partnering with Siemens to leverage generative artificial intelligence (AI), and also confirmed the release of Matter casting support for Fire TV and Echo Show.
Siemens will integrate Amazon Bedrock - a service that offers multiple high-performing foundational models from various AI companies - into Mendix, a low-code platform for developers, the company said.

Customers will be able to pick and choose their AI model according to their needs and integrate it directly into their workflows. Amazon says this will make software development simpler, "faster, and more efficient—allowing users to incorporate generative AI functions in just a few clicks."
Tie-up with Panasonic
Amazon has also partnered with Panasonic for smart TVs with built-in Fire TV. The company announced two new models - Panasonic Z95A and Z93A - that come with Fire TV baked in.
BMW is using Amazon's Alexa Large Language Model (LLM) capabilities to build an AI assistant, that can make it easier for users to know more about their cars. It can give drivers recommendations on BMW drive modes, and activate features of the car on the users' behalf.

In an industry first, Amazon has enabled support for Matter casting on the Fire TV and Echo Show 15. Matter is an open standard for connectivity for smart home and IoT devices. Users will be able to cast their shows or movies from Amazon Prime Video on their phone to their compatible Fire TV device or the Echo Show 15.
Amazon's autonomous vehicle subsidiary, Zoox, showcased the latest generation of its robotaxis for use on public roads with passengers.
