Bengaluru traffic police signs MoU with IISc to reduce congestion

Indian Institute of Science (IISc) will collaborate with traffic police to tackle congestion and enhance traffic safety in the city using data-centric and domain-knowledgeable AI solutions.

To reduce traffic congestion, Bengaluru City Traffic Police (BTP) and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU).

"The MoU entails the sharing of the city’s traffic data with IISc, allowing researchers to work alongside traffic police in reducing congestion and enhancing traffic safety through AI solutions grounded in data and domain expertise," said traffic police in a statement.

"The MoU also outlines IISc's support for safety audits, training, and capacity building for the traffic police."
