The much-awaited SUV from Mahindra's stable, the Mahindra Thar 2020, has been launched for a price of Rs 9.80 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base AX trim in India.
The second-generation Thar's LX trim, which is more city-oriented and comes with more comfort features comes a bit more expensive at Rs 12.49 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.

The new Thar is BS-VI compliant and comes with two engine options – a 2.0-litre mStallion TGDi Petrol engine and a 2.2-litre mHawk Diesel engine.

Some 2020-grade features have also been added such as a 7-inch infotainment system that is 'drizzle-resistant'. Besides it has all the necessary features such as cruise-control, ABS with EBD, dual airbags, ESP with rollover mitigation and hill-assist.
The new Thar comes with two seating options - 4 front-facing seats and 2+4 side-facing seat configuration.
The car is available in six colour variants, namely, Red Rage, Mystic Copper, Napoli Black, Aquamarine, Galaxy Grey and Rocky Beige.
