Apple CEO Tim Cook teases AI-related announcements for 'Later this year'

Apple's development teams are not only looking at widespread integration within iOS but also in development looks like Xcode

During the earnings call for Q1 2024, Apple CEO Tim Cook promised AI-related announcements that would be detailed later this year. Cook also reiterated that Apple has invested substantially in AI.

According to MacRumors, Cook said that Apple continues to, "invest these and other technologies that will shape the future". He also told investors that Apple was, "excited to share the details of our ongoing work in that space later this year."

Previously Bloomberg had reported that Apple's iOS 18 would be the "biggest" software update in the company's history. Apple is reportedly developing Generative AI models for use with the virtual assistant Siri and across other apps in the Apple ecosystem like Messages.
