In this episode of CNBC-TV18’s brand new special show ‘SWITCH’ Ankit Vengurlekar and Naomi Datta review the new BB Z10. They discuss about the Mobile World Congress (MWC) at Barcelona and some killer apps that one must have.
The Z10 is BlackBerry’s first ever device to help usher it into a rimless future. BlackBerry has packed in almost every imaginable hardware feature to make it stand tall in front of the most formidable competitors. A departure from traditional Berries the Z10 bears a gorgeous 4.2 inch touch screen display with a 1280x768 pixel resolution making it high definition. At 9 millimetres thick and weighing merely 137 grams it is a gorgeous handset. Qualcomm’s 1.5GHz Dual Core Snapdragon Processor ensures enough horsepower for multitasking and crunching heavy duty media tasks. Combined with 2GB of RAM you will rarely if ever face any lag on the Z10. BlackBerry has a very respectable 8MP primary camera along with a 2MP front facing camera both capable of recording high definition videos. Z10 packs in a buffet of censors. From gyroscope, to accelerometer, to proximity and compass it is adequately stocked up. The 16GB internal memory is complimented by up to 64 GB of external memory thanks to a micro SD card slot. Needless to say it is a 3G ready device with excellent Wi-Fi performance. What happened at Mobile World Congress (MWC), Barcelona Nokia had the spiciest chorizos on Barcelona. While most leading brands had no devices to launch Nokia gave their handset doting geeks quite some love. Stephen Elop took to the stage once again two years after he had announced the partnership with Microsoft on the Windows phone platform to launch two new Lumia phones targeted at the mid-range consumer. Lumia 520 and 720 packing the same high-end experience that the 920 has made us now expect from the line up by cutting down on a few hardware features. These devices are all set to be the new sweetheart of the masses. Nokia also in a very inception like pre-emptive fashion launched a sub-Rs 2,000 Nokia 105 just days before Chidambaram made amendments to the mobile phone excise duty structure. The fourth phone in their MWC arsenal is the classic candy bar design 301 which is a dual SIM 3G workhorse on the budget. All in all Nokia rules the mindset of geeks at MWC 2013 and Twitterverse both secretly hopeful of its killer comeback in the smart phone leadership arena. Temple Run - A must have!
