Official data from the Ministry of Coal released last month reveals that coal remains a crucial energy source for India, contributing 55 per cent to the national energy mix. The country holds the fifth-largest geological coal reserves globally and is the second-largest consumer.

As a key component of India’s energy security, the coal sector plays an essential role in supporting the nation’s industrial and economic progress.
