Rashesh Shah, Chairman & CEO, Edelwiess Capital is of the view that long term investors can buy infra stocks for 2-3 years time horizon.
Shah told CNBC-TV18, "From a price point of view and from a valuation point of view I think there are quite a few attractive opportunities. I think it is ideal for investors who can take atleast 2-3 year view because then you can hold on because you might have a fairly bruising another quarter because you should remember that infrastructure companies are highly impacted by the availability of capital and the cost of capital. So as long as the cost and availability of capital are going to be under pressure the outlook for infrastructure companies in the short term - I think all of us know that hopefully in the next 3 -4 quarters interest rates will start coming down and there is a huge opportunity in infrastructure, so after that the outlook will look a lot better for infrastructure companies when interest rates are down but currently it is all factored in the price."
He further added, "If you are a true value investor and have a long enough horizon there are enough compelling opportunities. If you are not a hardcore value investor you can afford to wait for a quarter because I don't think anything will happen in a quarter."
