Firstsource Solutions, REC, ITC top sells: Tata Mutual Fund

Tata Mutual Fund decreased its weightage in metals & mining, pharmaceuticals and engineering & capital goods space, while enhanced its exposure in cement & construction, oil & gas and consumer non-durables.

Firstsource Solutions, Rural Electrification and ITC were the top sells, while Jaiprakash Associates, Idea Cellular and Hindustan Unilever were the top buys.
The study of the portfolio managed by Tata Mutual Fund for the month on September 2011 shows that, in the metals & mining space, the fund sold Tata Steel, Coal India and Hindalco Industries.
In the pharmaceuticals pack, it sold Cadila Healthcare, Sun Pharmaceutical and Ipca Laboratories, while it bought Cipla, Stride Arcolab and Aventis Pharma in the same space. (View - All Bulk Deals by Mutual Funds).
The fund sold Thermax, Larsen and Toubro and exited Texmaco in the engineering & capital goods sector. But it purchased Mundra Port and SKF India.
On the buying side, the fund purchased Jaiprakash Associates, Shree Cements and ACC in the cement & construction segment. It sold Rain Commodities in the same space. (Check out - Which sectors are attracting Fund Managers?)
In the oil & gas space, it bought Reliance Industries, Cairn India and ONGC, while it sold GAIL India, BPCL and Gujarat Gas Company.
The fund purchased Hindustan Unilever and Bata India in the consumer non-durables pack.
