Societe Generale picks small stakes in Bank of Baroda, Eicher Motors, Max Financial, PFC from Marshall Wace

France-headquartered Societe Generale has acquired small stakes in four companies - Eicher Motors, Bank of Baroda, Max Financial, Power Finance Corporation (PFC) from hedge fund of Marshall Wace via open market transactions on September 12.

Eicher Motors shares closed the session with 1.73 percent gains at Rs 6,875, however, PFC corrected nearly 1 percent to Rs 395.70, Bank of Baroda fell 0.33 percent to Rs 237.48, and Max Financial declined 1.16 percent to Rs 1,586.7 on the NSE.

Societe Generale has bought 64,16,414 equity shares (equivalent to 0.12 percent stake) in Bank of Baroda at Rs 238.27 per share for Rs 152.88 crore, and 24,37,238 shares (0.07 percent) in PFC at Rs 399.55 per share for Rs 97.4 crore from Marshall Wace Investment Strategies - Eureka Fund.

Further, Societe Generale purchased 60,405 shares (0.02%) in Eicher Motors at Rs 6,758 per share for Rs 40.82 crore, and 74,675 shares (0.02% stake) in Max Financial Services at Rs 1,605.4 per share for Rs 11.98 crore from Marshall Wace.
