BGC warns Italy's debt-crisis contagion to hit banks

Weighed down by concerns of debt crisis spreading to other Eurozone countries, Italy's market regulator Consob rushed in strict rules on short-selling after investors panicked to sell banking stocks on Friday in Italian market. "The inability of the European Union and European Central Bank (ECB) to form a common policy over the Greece concern sparked fears of contagion in this region," David Buick, BGC said in an interview with CNBC-TV18.


He further added that if any euro zone country defaults, the banks would be severely hit.
