With top cement companies scheduled to announce their quarterly results, the sector has been in buzzing since morning. Talking about the sector to CNBC-TV18, Rakesh Arora of Macquarie Capital Securities said he expects the results to be good. He said currently the cement prices are driven by higher costs but the demand environment continues to be weak. He foresees further weakening of demand ahead and advises booking profits in cement companies post Q4 numbers.
He blamed weak demand for low capacity utilisation of the cement companies. He is bullish on India Cements and favours Grasim due to its exposure to VSF business.
