On Thursday, the session ended flattish with the Nifty at 5,541, down 25 points, while the Sensex closed shop at 18,436, lower by about 66 points. CNBC-TV18's managing editor Udayan Mukherjee feels that the Nifty is languishing closer to the lower end of the trading band around 5,540 levels. The Sensex is down and breadth is also not special.
The market started without any zing, pulled back a bit towards the middle of the day and then lost its way again. Mukherjee stated, "The market saw some individual level blowups like Exide which was not as dramatic as Crompton Greaves, but came off quite a bit."
"On the flipside, some good movers like MindTree and Petronet LNG were seen, yet the market looks very sluggish," he added. Below is the verbatim transcript of his interview with CNBC-TV18
