PN Vijay's 2 top picks for the day: Chambal Fert & DCB

With an unimpressive start to the October market, portfolio manager PN Vijay says the Q2 earnings can lift the spirits up, reasonably. "October is a tricky month for equities and the Indian market is swaying to global cues.The market has discounted the Q2 earnings way too much, so if the Q2 earnings are reasonable we could get a decent move up in the second half of this month." says Vijay.

Vijay says there is a great global risk aversion in the market. "We are getting bits of news which are positive like a good PMI data from the US or China but still the Greek overhang is so powerful that people are not looking at equities," he believes.

Picking his multi baggers ideas for the day, Vijay choose Chambal Fertilizer and DCB. He sees the upcoming urea decontrol and demerger of shipping arm of Chambal Fertilizers as major kickers for the stock.
