See Coal India under pressure in near-term: Kotak Instl Eq

Coal India has been under a bit of a cloud over the last few days. Last week, the government issued a presidential directive to Coal India (CIL) for supplying a minimum assured quantity of fuel to power producers.

In an interview to CNBC-TV18, Murtuza Arsiwalla, analyst of Kotak Institutional Equities says, the stock would remain under pressure in the short-term. However, he is confident on the long-term positives of the company. How do you expect this entire fuel supply agreements (FSA) situation to pan out for Coal India over the next 12 months? A: We still remain positively biased on Coal India. The way we look at the entire situation is that if as a country coal is in deficit supply, you want to align to players who own that coal. That
