Volatile session on D-street: How far is 6000 now?

The market extended their winning streak to eight straight sessions, but the day was not without its drama. Expiry jitters set in mid-session and the market actually slid into the red. But smart gains in blue-chips like Reliance, helped the markets post a smart recovery. The Nifty finally shut shop at 5,833 - up 46 points. The Sensex ended at 19,445, with a 155 point rally.

Pashupati Advani, Advani OTC Dealers is concerned that the market is likely to hit roadblocks soon and may get lower in towards the end of May. However, he thinks that the momentum right now driven by fresh buying by foreign investors will pull the market upwards for a month atleast.
