Ratings agency Moody's has kept India's gross domestic product (GDP) forecast for FY17 at 6.9 percent and expects the full impact of demonetisation to reflect in the fourth quarter numbers.
William Foster of Moody's said that he expects Q4 GDP to moderate to 6.4 percent.
Speaking to CNBC-TV18, he said that demonetisation will be a positive for india over the medium-term and its impact will eventually fade away.
However, he raised concerns over the non-performing asset (NPA) menace that has been ailing Indian banks.
He said that NPA is a prolonged weakness that is still not addressed and there is no clear method in place to resolve the issue.Watch video for more.
