Bengaluru-based IT services major Infosys saw its headcount increased by 8,203 for the quarter ending September 30, 2025, making it the fifth consecutive quarter in which the company ended with higher number employees.
The company ended H1FY26 with 8,413 employees, compared to only 548 employees added in H1FY25.
The company's headcount increased by 210 in Q1FY25.
Attrition for the quarter fell to 14.3 percent, from last quarter’s 14.4 percent on a last-twelve-month basis.
Jayesh Sanghrajka, CFO, Infosys shared that the company has hired around 12,000 freshers as of H1, and is on track to onboard 20,000 freshers for the full year of FY26.
In July, the software major said it is ramping up hiring this year, having added 17,000 employees in the first quarter, with plans to recruit 20,000 fresh graduates this fiscal, Parekh told Moneycontrol in an exclusive interview.
The company’s bullish stance on growth, driven by increased corporate spending on artificial intelligence and cloud computing, stands in stark contrast to rival Tata Consultancy Services, which recently announced a 2 percent workforce reduction amid a gap in skilling and technology shift.
Tata Consultancy Services, which announced its numbers last week, saw its employee count decline by over 19,000 amid workforce trimming.
Tech Mahindra's headcount increased by 4,197 sequentially in the second quarter. The company’s IT headcount, however, declined by 1,459 QoQ and by 2,090 YoY. The total IT headcount as of Q2 was about 78,528.
HCLTech reported a net addition of 3,489 employees during the September quarter (Q2FY26), bringing its total workforce to 226,640.
