JSW Energy has reported 49 percent year-on-year growth in March quarter profit to Rs 336 crore boosted by higher tariff at Barmer plant along with lower interest cost. Sales also climbed 11 percent to Rs 2301 crore due to its Barmer, Vijayngar and Ratnagiri plant operated at an average plant load factor (PLF) of 86 percent.Despite the company posting good numbers in Q4, its stock slipped over 4 percent to Rs 64.50. Margins improved 640 basis points to 36 percent on the back of fuel cost dipped 11 percent to Rs 858.43 crore as imported coal got cheaper during the period. Interest cost declined 3 percent, protecting margins to an extent.
