Ford has elevated India-born Kumar Galhotra to the post of global president of non-electric automobile business which clocks annual revenues in excess of over $100 billion.
In his new role, Galhotra - who has served Ford for nearly 34 years now -will be president of Ford Blue and will report to Ford’s president and CEO Jim Farley.
Born in December 1965, Galhotra grew up in India before moving to the United States where he completed bachelor's of science in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan.

Ford Blue will incorporate the company’s internal combustion engine (ICE) products, or those running on petrol and diesel.
Galhotra – who joined Ford in 1988 - has served in various positions in product development and product strategy.
He was president of America and international markets group. He also served as president, North America, a position he was named to in 2018.

Previously, he was also the group vice president, Lincoln and chief marketing officer for Ford Motor Company, a position he was named to in 2017.
Among his assignments, Galhotra led the introduction of the Ford Ranger into South American markets in 1998. He was the chief engineer for the Ford Escape, Mazda Tribute and Mercury Mariner in the early 2000s.
