CERC passes order in Tata Power, Adani compensatory tariff case

Power regulator Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) today passed an order in the Tata Power and Adani Power's compensatory tariff case. As per the order, the petitioner will be entitled to relief for the losses suffered in respect of the high price of coal procured from Indonesia. The rule will be applicable after the Supreme Court's hearing on the matter. Even if the Supreme Court votes in favour of Tata Power and Adani Power, it is unlikely to move stock prices of these companies much as analysts have more or lesss priced in this news, feels Murtaza Arsiwalla of Kotak Institutional Equities.Watch video for more.
