2G spectrum scam: Sun TV pleads innocence

With Sun TV's name being the latest to be linked to the spectrum scam, the company has now come out with a clarification saying its MoU with Astro Group dates back to 1997 and Aircel was not in existence then.

With Sun TV's name being the latest to be linked to the spectrum scam, the company has now come out with a clarification saying its MoU with Astro Group dates back to 1997 and Aircel was not in existence then.

Astro, a sister concern of Aircel, invested Rs 675 crore in Sun TV's DTH venture within four months of getting spectrum in Dishnet Wireless which is now Aircel. But according to Sun TV, Dayanidhi Maran is not a shareholder in Sun Direct TV nor does he have any connection with the DTH business. Sun Direct TV has no connection with Aircel.
