The Ministry of Defence is likely to invite the request for proposal for a single engine fighter aircraft for the Indian Air Force in a month or so. The competition is largely between the legendary F 16, manufactured by US aerospace giant Lockheed Martin and the Swedish made Gripen-E, designed and manufactured by SAAB. CNBC-TV18's Shereen Bhan got a first-hand look at Gripen-E at Saab's HQ in Linköping, Sweden.
