The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed two cases against Jindal Steel and Power Limited today. The first case is related to the allocation made to the company for Gare Palma IV/I coal block, which was already under controversy for not being given to the company post the first round of bidding.
The second case is related to the Amarkonda coal block in Jharkhand which was allotted to JSPL by the Jharkhand government.
The CBI has named 15 people in five companies including 10 people for the chargesheet which will be filed tomorrow by the CBI. The chargesheet includes individuals from Jindal Steel and Power and Jindal Realty.
JSPL’s Naveen Jindal, Madhu Koda – ex Chief Minister of Jharkhand and Dasari Narayan Rao, the Minister of State (MoS) coal at the time when the coal allocation was done and ex coal secretary SC Gupta have been named in the chargesheet .
The accused have been chargesheeted for alleged offences of criminal conspiracy, cheating and under the provision of corruption act.
