CCI likely to clear 28 stalled mega power projects on Mon

The Cabinet Committee on Investments (CCI), headed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, is likely to take up the environment and forest clearance issues related to nearly Rs 50,000 crore of power projects on Monday.

The Cabinet Committee on Investments (CCI), headed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, is likely to take up the environment and forest clearance issues related to nearly Rs 50,000 crore of power projects on Monday.


The CCI is expected to clear 28 stalled mega power projects.
On the CCI agenda are power projects belonging to private companies like Reliance Power's Sasan project worth Rs 20,800 crore, JSPL's Angul power project worth Rs 9,121 crore and Jaiprakash Venture's power project worth Rs 8,100 crore.
Metal firms Hindalco and NALCO projects are also under consideration.
