The Supreme Court has directed the central empowered committee to investigate the allegations made against Adani Enterprises and JSW with respect to illegal mining, reports CNN-IBN's Ashok Bagariya.
As far as these allegations against Adani Enterprises and JSW are concerned, advocate Prashant Bhushan made specific allegations against both these companies saying that they have bribed officials in Karnataka. Bhushan also argued that both the companies were also recipient of illegal ore which has been mined from Bellary, Tumkur and other places in Karnataka.
In fact Prashant Bhushan wanted CBI probe against both these companies saying that CBI is already probing the role of other companies into illegal mining and there is no reason why these companies be spared.
In fact, Bhushan also sentenced his point by saying that even the Karnataka Lokayukta Justice Hegde had invited both these companies for the role. Today the Supreme Court has taken a middle part and asked the central empowered committee appointed by it to look into these allegations. The next hearing in this matter is expected to take place in January 2012. Around the same time the CEG is likely to submit its report into these matters. Also watch the accompanying video.
