Ola Mobility Institute (OMI) Foundation, a policy research and social innovation think tank, has launched the EV-Ready India Dashboard (evreadyindia.org), aiming to provide essential macroeconomic data and analysis for India's electric mobility sector. The dashboard was inaugurated by R.K. Singh, Union Minister of Power, New and Renewable Energy in the Government of India.

R.K. Singh, at the launch of the EV-Ready India Dashboard, expressed confidence in India exceeding its target of achieving 50% energy production from non-fossil fuels by 2030. He emphasized the critical role of electric vehicles (EVs) in reducing energy dependence and addressing environmental concerns. He believes that as the number of EVs on Indian roads increases, India will emerge as a leader in climate change mitigation.

According to OMI, this dashboard is a unique platform in India that compiles sales data from all Vahan states and Telangana. It offers insights into the state of charging infrastructure, demand trends, and total cost of ownership (TCO) comparisons, making it a valuable resource for EV buyers. Furthermore, the dashboard tracks the current investment climate for EVs and provides market growth forecasts and identifies EV hotspots in the country. It also measures emissions avoided to accelerate India's journey toward achieving net-zero emissions.

The dashboard predicts over 1.6 crore annual EV deployments in India by 2030 and highlights that Maharashtra and Delhi have the highest number of charging stations in the country, with 2,531 and 1,815 stations, respectively.
