Ather is all set to expand its lineup with a new family friendly electric scooter. Christened the Rizta, the new scooter has been teased for the first time on social media giving us a look into what its design could be.

The Rizta has been in development for a while now and the first spy shots were taken as far back as November last year. The spy shots almost exactly match the silhouette teased by the company confirming that the family scooter will focus more on comfort and space rather than the edgy, sporty design that the Ather 450 currently has.

Overall, the scooter seems to favour a more conventional look with a flat face, bulbous front apron and a very roomy seat. The floorboard too looks spacious enough to allow the little ones to stand in front more comfortably.

The headlamp and tail lamp assembly is likely to be a bar-type LED unit similar to the TVS iQube and the rear will feature a robust grab rail. The mirrors, too, are likely to be simpler units compared to the sharp ones in the 450 range. The spy shots didn’t show much of the instrument cluster, but we expect the DeepView LCD unit from the 450S to make it to the Rizta as well. Finally, 12-inch wheels on both ends with a disc brake at the front.
