In modern times, if there’s one thing you absolutely need to free yourself from, it’s stress. According to the multiple studies, chronic stress can have severe negative effects on your health. It is linked to numerous health issues, including increased risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and obesity.
Stress can also weaken your immune system, making you more susceptible to infections. Furthermore, it can contribute to mental health problems such as anxiety and depression. The cumulative impact of stress on both physical and mental well-being stresses on the urgent need to manage and reduce stress to maintain your health.
Here are few ways, suggested by Shraddha Subramanian, Intuition Expert, Business Coach, Founder & CEO of Sparkling Soul, that can help you deal with stress:
Drop the resistance: Stress often arises from resisting reality. Accepting what is and still pursuing your goals can lead to more effective progress.
Call it out: Expressing your stress can help release it. Identifying and voicing the cause of your stress allows you to address it directly. For instance, you might say, "I am stressed because I am uncomfortable with..."
Ask open-ended questions: To shift control from your stress response to your own mind, ask questions that require thoughtful answers rather than yes/no. Examples include, "What are ways I can relax?" or "When have I felt at ease before?" These questions help regain authority over your stress.
Watch your words: Language shapes your reality. Instead of describing yourself as constantly stressed, frame it as, "I am dealing with stress," or "I feel stressed right now." This subtle shift can prevent stress from becoming a permanent part of your life.
Focus on your well-being: By concentrating on your well-being rather than your stress, you can maintain calm and balance. Use reminders of what is important to keep yourself aligned with your well-being goals.
