US Singer Justin Timberlake has recently revealed in an Instagram post that he is suffering from Lyme disease- a bacterial infection caused by tick bites.

“I’ve been battling some health issues, and was diagnosed with Lyme disease – which I don’t say so you feel bad for me – but to shed some light on what I’ve been up against,” Timberlake wrote in his post. What is Lyme Disease?
Lyme disease is caused by bacterial infection through Borrelia burgdorferi, usually taken after an infected black-legged tick bite. These ticks are found almost everywhere in grassy, bushy, or forested areas, and their activity is maximum during the summer period.
Some serious complications of Lyme disease, if not promptly treated, include arthritis, nerve pain, problems with the heart, and cognitive disturbances.
