A recent incident involving Marathi filmmaker Swapna Joshi has highlighted the importance of quick thinking and vigilance, even from unexpected sources. In a dramatic turn of events, a thief managed to steal Rs 6,000 from Joshi's apartment in Andheri, Mumbai, but was eventually thwarted by an unlikely hero—her pet cat.

The break-in occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning, around 3:30 am. The thief, displaying remarkable determination, scaled six floors using a pipe to gain access to the filmmaker's flat. Once inside, the burglar began searching through the apartment for valuables, all while the residents were asleep and unaware of the intrusion.

Joshi, who is known for her work in the Marathi film industry, was asleep in another room when the incident unfolded. The thief initially went unnoticed as he carefully moved through the flat, even opening the bedroom door where two people were sleeping. However, the situation took a turn when Joshi’s pet cat, sensing the intruder, began meowing loudly. The cat's persistent cries soon woke up Joshi’s daughter and son-in-law, who were sleeping in another room.
