The highly anticipated investigative thriller Stolen will make its global premiere on June 4th, according to a confirmation made today by Prime Video.
Stolen, a Hindi original film, is produced by Gaurav Dhingra under the banner of Jungle Book Studio and directed by debutante Karan Tejpal. Tejpal, Dhingra, and Swapnil Salkar-Agadbumb are co-writers of the screenplay.
Stolen is a grim and emotionally charged tale about two well-educated brothers who, while at a distant Indian train station, witness the horrific kidnapping of a baby from a poor mother. Driven by moral obligation, one brother convinces the other to accompany the distraught mother on a perilous quest to retrieve her child.
The film promises a powerful cinematic experience with a gripping story and powerful performances from Abhishek Banerjee, Harish Khanna, Mia Maelzer, Sahidur Rahaman, and Shubham Vardhan.
At the 2023 Venice Film Festival, the film received a standing ovation for its impressive debut. Since then, it has had an incredible run at several major international film festivals, taking home Best Film and Best Director at Japan's Skip City D-Cinema Festival and Best Director, Best Actress, and Best Cinematography at the Beijing International Film Festival.
Additionally, it received a Special Mention at the Zurich Film Festival. Stolen was shown at the 28th International Film Festival of Kerala and the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival in India.
